Township Purchases New Fire Engine to Serve Residents
Hamilton Township Fire Department recently took delivery of a new 2003 Fire Engine. This engine is stationed at the Obetz Road Fire Station. The cost of this unit was $186,000. Purchase was made possible by donations from our larger business and the balance by the levy passed on May 8, 2001 which was collected in 2002.
The new Engine is equipped with all new hose consisting of 600' of 1/34",
1000' of 5", and 400' of 3". It also has a 1000 gallon water tank and
a 1500 GPM pump. The Pierce Engine is made on an International Chassis.
We were able to attach ourselves to the State of Ohio bid for Fire
Equipment which made the cost lower than if we had to bid one ourselves.
This Engine replaces a 1976 Pierce which has been in service for a long
time and has responded to many emergencies. Our Firefighting fleet consists
of a 2003 Engine, 1986 Engine, and a 1997 Ladder.
Thank you voters for your support.
