Hamilton Township recently acquired a new Grassfighter a.k.a. Grass Truck,

a pickup outfitted with firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers,

water, a pump and hose and tools for fighting grass fires and fires in off-road

areas that a fire truck can't easily access.

2008

1963

This grass truck is a 2008 Ford F-250 with a skid unit mounted in the bed. The truck chassis was paid for by the township trustees and the skid unit was a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. It has 150 gallons of water with a 150' 1" hose reel and 2 front mount sweeps. The truck is now in service for Hamilton Township replacing the current grass truck which has been in service with the township since 1963.
